Coach Michele Zapple

Michele comes from a gymnastics and dance family. Her mother, Mary Ellen Holdreith, is the first American-born coach to send girls to the Olympics in rhythmic gymnastics. Michele's first competition in artistic gymnastics was in 1966 when she took 1st Place All-Around in the Philippine National Championships in Manila. Next, she lived in Japan, where she trained with Takashi and Kyoko Ono - the husband and wife team that had recently won the Olympic Gold medals in gymnastics for Japan. While learning to read, write, and speak Japanese, Michele won 1st Place in the All-City Tokyo Gymnastics Meet. Next, she moved to Oklahoma City, where she teamed with Kathy Howard, who represented the United States in the 1976 Olympics. Michele retired from competitive gymnastics at age 16. Since then, she has taught gymnastics in Los Angeles for 19 years, while raising and homeschooling her 3 children, and choreographing theatre in both Los Angeles and Massachusettes. Upon moving to Wilmington in 1998, she worked at American All-Stars, The Kid's Gym, and Gymnastics Unlimited. She has coached preschoolers, recreation class kids, and artistic team girls through level 8. Becky is a former competitive gymnast and springboard diver who has been teaching for 23 years - 16 right here in Wilmington. With a B.S. in Physical Education from ECU, she is a USAG Professional Member with USAG Safety, CPR, and first aid certification. Becky is also the youngest judge ever certified by the USAG, and holds an advanced certification specializing in preschool gymnastics. Becky hires and trains the staff, implements weekly lesson plans for all classes, and is available to the parents to consult about the individual progress of their children. Becky is the busy mother of 4 children.Coach Morgan Pereira

Morgan started in gymnastics at age 5 and has continued for 9 years. She won 1st Place on Floor and Beam in Level 4. Morgan is currently a Senior at UNCW, majoring in Anthropolgy and Forensic Science. This is her 4th year teaching at CGA. Coach Michelle Harrison

Michelle is the Artistic Team Coach. Michelle was a cheerleader and dancer for 5 years, and competed at Kidsport Gymnastics Academy for 8 years through Level 8. She also has works full time during the day as a medical transcriptionist. Coach Mary C. Eller

Mary decided she had to do gymnastics after seeing the 1992 Olympics on T.V. She competed Level 5 in the Texas State Meet, and Level 6 in the South Texas State Meet. She is competing on the CGA Artistic Team as a Level 8. Mary works the desk and does Parents Night Out and Birthday Parties. She attends UNCW and plans on being a teacher.Coach Zoey Zapple

Zoey has competed in both Artistic and Rhythmic (Level 9/ Premier) Gymnastics. She competed for 9 years all over the U.S., was the NC State Champion, competed against national team and international gymnasts at the famous L.A. Lights Invitational, and at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Zoey danced for 3 years at Wilmington School of Ballet, and is an early childhood education major at UNCW. She is the first team girl from CGA to compete through the end of high school, and coaches and choreographs for the Rhythmic Team. Zoey recently had her first baby, Jameson, in August.Coach Hannah Conklin

Hannah worked all summer in our summer camp program, and is now teaching Saturday mornings. She is in her 7th year competing on the Rhythmic Team, where she has been a state, regional, and national winner. Hannah loves children and volunteers at the hospital in her free time.Coach Michelle Todd

Alison began gymnastics when she was 6 years old, and competed in USA Gymnastics through Level 9. She also competed all 4 years for her high school in Raleigh, Sanderson High School, where she was the captain of the gymnastics team. She graduated with an Associates in Arts from Louisburg College, and now attends UNCW. Alison has a lot of teaching experience, and will be doing Birthday Parties and Parents Night Out.Coach Jack Zapple

Jack has been in Wilmington for 12 years now. Jack has been in the gym ever since he can remember, and now coaches the boys and girls school age, preschool, Parent & Tot classes, Summer Camps, and Birthday Parties.
